Hungarian businessmen returned from Dakhla with reportable results, according to what Péter Orosz, the Network Development Director of the Hungarian Trade and Cultural Centre (HTCC) told Globoport.

Besides the five experts of HTCC, ten Hungarian businessmen joined the delegation to Morocco, who were brave enough to try their luck in a less known region that is still full of opportunities. The members of the Hungarian delegation represented several fields, from energetics to food industry, and agriculture. And the results of the trip are reportable. Hungarians met with many potential partners with whom they can start to build and develop well-working business relations. Cooperation agreements were made and even a deal was closed, as a Moroccan businessman ordered a remarkable amount of a Hungarian product called agrooter, which would make production much easier in the dry dessert conditions.

The product samples of the Hungarian companies will be exhibited and further popularised in the Agrarian Chamber of Dakhla. Some of the Moroccan businessmen want to visit Hungary to witness the production capacity of the companies and deepen cooperation.

Péter Orosz said that Dakhla could be an excellent field for Hungarians since even though it’s far from us, the Moroccan government spends a lot of money on the development of the region. Especially on fields that could be signified as “home fields” for Hungarians: the establishing of agriculture, energetics, tourism in dry and semidry locations.

For another thing, HTCC opened its first representation in Morocco in 2013. Since then they have spread to Uganda, Dubai, Malawi, Botswana, Ghana, Gambia, China and lately to Mexico. The job of its colleagues, working abroad, is the successful marketing of the portfolio of products and technology put together in Hungary, and the evolving of relations, which help Hungarian partners in doing business.

Delegations are prepared by the Budapest Centre of HTCC and the concerned representation: they map relations and work out programme points at the location. Companies get the necessary information via the Hungarian HTCC. When the conditions have been traced out, they price the events and start the promotion, just like in the case of an official state delegation’s trip.
